So it took me a year, but I randomly found all my high res images from last year’s Warped Tour stop in Cleveland. I thought I lost them! Turns out they were hidden deep in a external hard drive, with more concert stuff I backed up.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum is opening their newest exhibit, Women Who Rock, next week. They called me to see if I had any pictures of the women being highlighted in the exhibit (as well as others who are presently performing), and my immediate thought went to photos of the Paramore concerts that I’ve photographed over the years. Why? Well, there aren’t that many active lead singers that “rock” as hard as Hayley Williams of Paramore. Plus, the band performed at the museum years ago, so that would make sense. A perfect fit.
I have a ton of photos that haven’t been posted anywhere, and my entire archive of photos is pretty large. Going through the photos, my realization was that there aren’t many women in music, and that the music industry dominated by males (I mean, we live in a patriarchal society).
So, the exhibit is a great idea. I was in the museum photographing the final touches on the closed off exhibit, and it’s REALLY well done. It will bring to light the personal and professional lives, as well as the struggles and achievements of women in the music industry. The costumes and artifacts the museum is able to gather, as well as the information given to visitors of the exhibit make it a well-rounded, fun learning experience.
Side note:I was talking to a friend at a party last night about this year’s Warped Tour and I’m really excited to see Paramore perform and to photograph them again. Cleveland is one of their few dates on the tour. They’re one of my favorite live bands and are really, really good at what they do. I’ve never met the band, but I’ve covered their shows in Cleveland since the epic ‘07 Warped Tour storm, so I’m glad to see they’ve come so far and are still doing their thing.
I’m waiting to hear back from friends at the Museum to see which pictures they’ll use and for what, but in the mean time, here’s a photo of Hayley from their last US tour stop in Cleveland.
